HELD HOSTAGE IN MILLSBERRY!

In case you've wondered where I've been, the title says it all. I can't believe I (and so many other adults who should know better) are hooked on this silly children's game site. But don't knock it if you haven't tried it, because I absolutely love it there. It's sort of like a very simplified version of Sims, only games to earn 'Millsbucks' to spend to dress your little character, buy them toys and items, build and furnish your house, send them to the beauty shop, etc. There are also (virtual) prizes and surprises and it's really never a dull moment....well, for me anyway. Shabree and Zach like it too, and have each created a character.

Heather from 'The Kitchen Table' at 'That Home Site' mentioned it in a discussion about favorite free online games. I checked it out on July 3rd, I think it was, and have been glued there ever since.

If you are already a resident of Millsberry, or if you check it out and register, (Millsberry.com) let me know by leaving a comment or emailing me. Our characters can visit each other's house.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

TaDa! This is the special hat I made to celebrate the day...well, the day before, as it turned out. We had our 4th of July celebration the night before.
Shabree looked so cute in her new boots and 'Cowgirl' shirt, that I had her pose in front of the biggest crepe myrtle before we left the house. With the rain we've been having, the crepe myrtles are blooming profusely all over town.
Shabree and I went over to the cabin around 7. Chuck was already there, barbequeing. Most everyone invited was already there too. All together there were about 18 people. We all had a great time.
Shabree got to ride Starlight. (Shabree, Jessica and Chuck)
The adults sat around the fire ring and talked. (Reagan, - son #2 - and our friend, Nicki)
Mathieu, along with friends, Tristan and Savannah rode bikes, jumped on the trampoline and ran around.
Along with other delicious food, Nicki brought a very appropriate dessert.
I enjoyed wearing my hat the whole evening.
Of course, everyone was very envious.
Son #3, Garrett

JUMPING THE GUN ON THE 4TH

This is a photo I took of Shabree right before she left with Chuck to go to the supermarket. We're celebrating the 4th of July a day early, since he didn't want to be staying up late...um, past 8:30 or so...on a night before he has to go to work.
I have a cake - Paula Deen's Gooey Butter Cake - in the oven, and have made cheese dip to go with the red and blue tortilla chips. Just imagine the additives and who-knows-what chemicals in those! I'm taking weiners and buns too, and Chuck has the meat for the pit. Amy's bringing chili and other people are bringing beans, potato salad and whatever else they want.
Things have been so busy the past few days that I haven't had time to blog. Plus, Shabree started a blog, and has been really hogging the computer. What time I've had to be on it, is mostly spent uploading and cropping her photos.
Here are a couple of cute photos from the other day - kittens in the honeysuckle vines.
