ANOTHER RATTLESNAKE!

Look what Topaz found yesterday evening right off the edge of the carport. I heard her barking, and then Patti-Jo joined in too. I looked out the kitchen window and saw a 'lump' in the grass where she was looking, but looked farther and saw Zach walking this way swinging a rope, so dismissed the lump as a fire ant bed. Zach had been out there with the roping dummy, so I thought they were just barking at him. But as he got closer, he heard and saw the snake and got his gun to kill it. It was about 5 and a half feet long and really thick. Hopefully this is the last one! Topaz is still leary of it in the picture, but she stood her ground. Thank goodness she didn't get bitten.

That's too bad. That's a beautiful snake. Shooting them when they come to your property is like shooting at passing cars to keep your dogs safe while they play in the street. You can peacefully coexist with them with a little education.

Not a very good analogy Bryan. The snake wasn't passing by on a public road, it was in her yard where her animals and grandchildren play. I don't care how nice a snake is, the safety of my family comes first.

Amen to that, CBJ! Or,I guess we could round up any in our yards and ship them all over to Bryan's yard so he can coexist with them all he wanted to.

ROFLOL!!! Okay, this is just too goofy to even entertain. No way would anyone (with one exception, apparently) be willing to have rattlesnakes roaming their yard.
