THE ALAMO

Ashley, and girls, and Melissa and Madelyn went to the Alamo while they were here. Ashley asked me if I wanted to go, but I was still too worn out from Schlitterbahn and everything else.

Knocking on the Alamo's back door???

MOSHI MONSTERS

This is a game that some of my grandchildren and I have been playing lately. It is of the type that I like: You create your little monster character out of a number of types and various color combinations. Then you have your monster's room or house, and a friendship tree that grows with the number of friends added. You also have a pinboard where you can send and receive messages from your friends. There are mini-games to play to earn 'Rox' (the money for Monstro City stores), plus there are the varied, educational and interesting puzzle games that you can play once a day to earn a larger amount of Rox. There are several stores in the city that you can shop in to buy monster food and a lot of funny, pretty, cute, monster-y items with which to furnish your room. There is much more to it all, as well... including 'The Daily Growl' newspaper - a colorful and interactive newspaper with all the latest additions and ideas for Monstro City.
If you'd like to give it a try or just look at my monster, AquaBerry's, room, here is the link. AquaBerry's Sky Room It should take you right to Aquaberry's room, and if you want to join, I get credit if you join from there. Thanks! :) Oh! And in my room, you can interact with some of the toys that show as clickable. For instance, click on the little pink monster music box, or the spider or the framed paintings, haunted doll house, spring egg, bat windchimes, hanging duster, etc.

SCHLITTERBAHN

Ashley, and the girls, plus Roy's little sister and Melissa and the baby planned to go to Schlitterbahn while they were here. Chuck decided we would all go, as his treat. It was a FULL day, and most of us were exhausted by the time we got home that night.

AT THE PARK

The boys and I, and Coconut just returned from Veteran's Memorial Park. We went to play disk golf, but it was just too hot. We drove and looked around, scoping
out potential letterbox hiding places, played a little on the playground and then went through the DQ drive-through on the way home. I think if we are going to play disk golf this time of year, it'll need to be early in the morning.

At DQ, I got a Cotton Candy Blizzard. In case you are tempted, don't bother. It wasn't cotton candyish enough by a long shot. So I just got the calories and the
over-fullness instead of a low-cal, refreshing Diet Coke, which is what I wanted before I saw the picture of the Cotton Candy blizzard. ;P

I did make a (very) little headway in the cleaning/decluttering today. I took all the junk off of the dry sink in the living room and put it in the middle of the floor. Then I went through it and tossed some, Goodwilled some and put the rest up (well, almost the rest) where it went. Then I wet wiped the dust off of the dry sink and the tiny wall shelf. I even took one thing off of the wall and donated it to Goodwill. And one of the (previously buried) decorative items off the top of the dry sink, too. Now, to do all that on at least a dozen more surfaces! On the way to the park, I hauled garbage to the dump, including the small mountain of debris I raked up from the cemetery the other day, that was still in the van. I also took one bag of stuff to Goodwill. If I'd do that kind of thing each day, it would only
be....maybe a month?... and this place would be in fair to middlin' shape.

LETTERBOXING

This morning after Mass, the boys and I replaced 4 letterboxes that I removed for refurbishing recently.

Plus, I FINALLY placed one that I had made about 4 years ago. Now I just have to write up the clues for it and publish it on the Letterboxing North American website. For the record, using spray-on glue and rolling the box in natural debris doesn't work especially well. Wrapping it in camo tape would have been better.

We had to take a break in the middle of our stealth operations when things got too busy with other people nearby. So we went to Papa's and got tacos, then went back to the house to eat them and so I could change clothes, before raking up a huge pile of litter (Grrr!) that had been tossed and windblown where one of my boxes needed to be replaced. I bagged up what I could, and loaded some of it up 'as is' in the back of the van, but didn't bring enough bags to get it all. When I go back, I'll come prepared.

I also carved myself a new signature stamp, which I had been wanting to for a long time. Still a bee, but a different one. I carved two more stamps, too, possibly for future letterboxes or hitchhikers.
